Empath Concerts invites guest artists Christine Mann (cellist) and Carson Kirchner (violinist) in presenting a concert centered around the topic of Gender. We will be playing a work by Kati Agocs for two cellos, in addition to other exciting works. Before intermission will be a discussion about gender in music and gender topics of today. Contributions of food and drink are welcomed for the potluck reception!

Joining Empath Concerts in May are guest artists Andrew Jones (viola) and Amyr Joyner (violin) for concerts centered around "Herstory". We will be presenting works by women composers including "Limestone and Felt" by Caroline Shaw for viola and cello and more! Before intermission will be a discussion about feminism and the patriarchy. Contributions of food and drink are welcomed for the potluck reception!

Empath's third set of concerts for the season is centered around the topic of Classism, featuring Empath Co-Founders, violinist Celaya Kirchner and cellist Emma Hays Johnson. Experience a night of violin/cello duos that explore how music tackles the clash of the classes, including works by Bach, Bartok, and Ravel. Following the performance will be an audience-driven discussion, giving a unique opportunity for concert-goers to directly engage with not only the performers but their fellow art-lovers. Contributions of food and drinks for the potluck reception are welcomed.

"Join Empath for a concert centered around the topic of Cultural Appropriation featuring two incredible guest artists from North Carolina, violinist Gabriela Potter, and violist Santiago Vazquez-Loredo. Potter and Vazquez-Loredo will accompany Celaya Kirchner and Emma Hays Johnson in the performance of Dvorak's "American" Quartet and two transcriptions from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker. Johnson will also perform Bright Sheng's solo cello work, Seven Tunes Heard in China. Following the performance will be an audience-driven discussion, giving a unique opportunity for concert-goers to directly engage with not only the performers but their fellow art-lovers. Contributions of food and drinks for the potluck reception would be much appreciated."
